“You said you brought the knife with you?”
The class leader’s dark pupils flashed with suspicion.

The class leader returned to her seat when the bell rang.
I waited for half the class until I felt it was safe. While the biology teacher was talking about the “racist” customs of the kangaroo colony, I said to Xiao Qin:
“Hey, can I have my knife back now?”
“What?” Xiao Qin held her textbook in a disciplined manner and pretended she didn’t hear me well.
“Knife, give me back my Swiss Army knife.” I repeated a little impatiently.
“Ye Lin classmate’s words are so strange.” Xiao Qin muttered, “It’s obviously my knife.”
“The class leader isn’t here, so you don’t have to act anymore.”

The class leader’s angry voice rang by my ears.
I raised my head and saw the class leader’s angry face. Next to her was Xiao Qin, who was putting on an act.
So Xiao Qin didn’t run out of the classroom, she went to tell on me. She had a “the class leader will back me up” look on her face.

“I, I just want my knife back.” I explained with a red face.

“I, I’m not looking for the knife. I wanted to go to the bathroom and I’m just checking if Xiao Qin had any tissues in her bag.”
I said a sentence in embarrassment and headed to the washroom.
“If Ye Lin comes to you again and asks for the knife, come tell me and I’ll help you.”
I heard the voice of the class leader and Xiao Qin from behind me.
“Thank you, I knew the class leader is the best. I was willing to give the knife to Ye Lin classmate, but he went crazy when he got the knife…”

In the next few classes, I found a slot where both Xiao Qin and the class leader were away and went through Xiao Qin’s bag inside and out. I didn’t find anything but a few ultra-thin sanitary napkins, the Swiss army knife must have been hidden somewhere or she was carrying it with her.
When school was over, I couldn’t resist and asked her directly.
“Where did you hide the army knife.”

I never expected Xiao Qin to scream out ‘Yah’ in the middle of a self study session right when I touched her waist.
