Chapter 303 – Bride

TN: Hi guys, just wanted to let you know I posted the prologue of a new novel here. Give it a read and feel free to give feedback, I want to see if others enjoy it. I will also be making changes to the website and Patreon stuff over the next weeks while I have time because of quarantine. Stay safe guys. Enjoy.

My head was covered in sweat and each step was difficult to take as the class leader treated me like a pack mule. Soon, I was about to fall down and take my last breath.

As for a Spartan like me who constantly undergoes serious training, usually, something like this wouldn’t take my life. But the class leader hanging her bag around my neck was the fatal strike, it’s strangling me and I can’t breathe properly. If I was actually strangled by your bag, I’ll definitely come back to haunt you so no one else would marry you.

I’m not sure if it was because she heard my cursing inside my head, but the class leader adjusted her bag so I would be able to breathe. I was able to successfully carry Xiao Qin in front of the class leader’s building, and the class leader was able to avoid her fate of being unable to get married.

People used to say, the last part of a journey was the hardest. It looks like it came true.

Not only did I have to carry Xiao Qin up to the fifth floor, but we also bumped into a group of people here to pick up the bride and groom and the stairs were packed to the brim.

I’m not sure which southern province the bride and groom were from, but I didn’t expect there would actually be customs of getting married at night. If it was people from Dong Shan City, it would only be for second marriages.

There was a band playing downstairs with a black stretch limo parked on the side. Under the relatives’ watch, the groom carried the bride down the stairs. The groom had a fairly small and skinny body, so each step seemed to be quite difficult to make.

By chance, they ran right into the class leader and I carry Xiao Qin, trying to go up the stairs.

Marriage is a major event in one’s life, so the class leader turned to the side to let them through. I also tried to lean against the wall as much as possible so the marriage group could pass.

The groom who was carrying the bride, and me who carried Xiao Qin, glanced at each other as he passed by. I had no idea what he was thinking.

The person following from behind seemed to be the bridesmaid. She had a lively personality and she joked with me and Xiao Qin:

“Hey, are you guys getting married at such a young age? What are you planning to do upstairs?”

I didn’t even have the time to respond before Xiao Qin said with a smile:

“(*^__^*) Of course, we’re going to consummate the marriage.”

What, you’re going to consummate the marriage at the class leader’s home? What kind of guest are you?

The bridesmaid didn’t expect Xiao Qin to respond so audaciously and was stunned.

Xiao Qin continued to speak with excitement:

“I’ll learn from the bride and hurry up and give birth to Ye Lin classmate’s children.”

What Xiao Qin said was terribly untactful, because when the bride passed by, we could all see the bulge on her stomach. It was clear this was a shotgun marriage. Even if the times are different now, it was still awkward pointing it out in front of all their relatives.

The bridesmaid walked down the stairs with embarrassment and the class leader sighed.

“Xiao Qin, watch what you say, besides, there’s something wrong with your feelings for Ye Lin.”

She was probably referring to the lie Xiao Qin told her. She told her she used to like my younger brother, but began to like me after he went missing, like the bridge scene from TOUCH. The class leader probably thinks Xiao Qin is using me as a substitute for my younger brother.

It’s not true, but I do admit there are problems with Xiao Qin’s feelings for me.

Xiao Qin then began to whisper in my ear: “Did you hear that? Woman number two is saying bad things about me, she’s definitely an antagonist.”

You’re the antagonist! Think about the times when you broke the class leader’s shoes, forced her to show her breasts to you, then wrote her name in the Death Note!

The class leader spoke again when the marriage party all left:

“The bride is too careless. If they were planning on getting married, why couldn’t they just hold it in a bit? I hate when people get the order wrong.”

I think you’re the one who’s getting the order wrong! They’re only getting married because she’s pregnant. Besides, aren’t you usually a feminist? Why do you act conservatively in these cases? I heard some feminists in other countries advocate other women to act like men. A female offender who killed her husband received the praise of many feminists because she proved that women can also kill people.

Wait, it might not be her views on love, if she doesn’t want to get the order wrong, this is clearly her OCD! The class leader seemed to have the order “Dating → Marriage → Kids” in her mind, similar to how when you’re cooking you add oil, then open the fire, then add the ingredients… then does that mean she’s planning to keep herself pure before she gets married not because of her conservative views, but because of her OCD?

After we entered the class, we could see Shu Zhe sitting behind the dining table with an impatient expression.

“Sis, why did you take so long to get home?” Shu Zhe complained, “We did shot put in gym class today, so I’m starving.”

Do you not see the injuries on your sister’s hand and knees? Why didn’t the sexy white rose panties slip out from your shorts when you were doing shot put and make you the laughing stock of the class?

Shu Zhe stared blankly when Xiao Qin and I entered, but he stood up from the chair.

“Ah, bro Ye Lin, why are you here? Also… did sis Xiao Qin get injured?”

Sis Xiao Qin, hmph, even though you talked behind her back, you’re still calling her with sweet names.

The class leader briefly explained the situation to Shu Zhe and told me to carry Xiao Qin to her room so she could disinfect the wound.

Since the injury was on her knees and she may have to lift up her skirt, I was chased out of the room and only the two girls remained.

Even though the class leader’s hand still hurt, she forced herself to not show any pained expression when treating Xiao Qin’s injuries. But Xiao Qin was the who shuddered every time she was touched with a cotton swab.

I stood in the living room and started chatting with Shu Zhe.

“Bro Ye Lin, you came at a bad time. My sister’s hand seems to be broken, so she can’t cook for you.”

Who was looking forward to her cooking? I came to help your sister cook, shut up and feel some gratitude.

“Hey, there’s nothing wrong with the goods, right?” I asked like a drug dealer.

Shue Zhe looked at the class leader’s room’s door a bit awkwardly, “Yesterday when I was taking a shower, I accidentally tossed it in the dirty laundry bin. Luckily I got it back before my sister realized, but it was so close…”

Hey, can you be a bit more serious? You’re making my heart jump even more than when I was a human pack mule. If your sister found out I was making you wear women’s underwear, she would first take out her gun and shatter my kneecaps.

“Hey, if your sister finds out, don’t tell her I was the one who made you wear it.” I took some preventative measures.

“Then what should I say?”

“Um… just say it’s your hobby.”

“I don’t have those hobbies, I’m only doing it for money.”

For some reason, Shu Zhe’s face was slightly red. I thought you had no qualms about your greed for money, why is your face turning red?

Soon after, two girls with bandaged knees came out of the room talking and laughing with each other.
