Chapter 563 – Heaven-sent Object

When Snow heard the voice above her, she couldn’t believe it was real. She was too familiar with that voice, who else could it be but her brother Lin Xiao?

Did he actually respond to her summons and come to save her?

But… how is that possible? Even if the Goddess could hear her, what she said earlier was so awful, that it wouldn’t be recognized by the gods!

Snow couldn’t believe it and thought she was hearing things from despair, but what happened next made her believe.

A strange red light shined through the skylight and then the round ceiling of the church exploded.

“What!?”

In that instant, the third apostle’s eyes widened. He didn’t know what happened but he felt danger and instead of attacking Snow, he looked up and fired his attack into the sky.

“Quick reactions, but it’s just too weak.”

The people below watched as numerous flaming meteors fell from the sky. At this time, the fatal voodoo life claim also shot out and hit one of the meteors, melting it into ash in midair. But, after that, the thick blood-red beam exhausted its energy and was then smothered by another meteor, causing Nick to spit out a mouthful of blood.

Now even the warriors were panicking and trying to run away from the meteors, but it was already too late.

Boom, boom… the meteors crashed down without regard for anything, be it tiles, a desk, an altar, or a church. It smashed everything to bits.

In the blink of an eye, the bright and spacious church became hell on earth.

“B-brother?”

Snow couldn’t see what was happening, but she could hear the terrifying explosions, the burning, the screaming and feel the scorching heat close by.

It was strange, the numerous meteors didn’t leave any place untouched and left no one alive, except where Snow was standing in the center of the church.

It was like she was protected by the gods as her surroundings burned in a circle all around her.

… Protection of the gods? No, that was simply Lin Xiao’s extraordinary control.

But who knows if it was intentional or a coincidence, but the statue of the Goddess behind Snow was also undamaged.

“Really… is it really brother?”

After a while, the flames gradually went out and Snow finally came to and weakly asked.

“Yeah, it’s me, I’m here.”

He slowly walked next to her and gently patted her head.

“Is it really you?”

“Of course.”

“But… why? I just yelled out to try and scare that bastard, why did you really appear?”

“Because I don’t want to live the rest of my life in guilt… how can I not come when my little sister is threatening me like that?”

“You’re still in the mood to make fun of me! But, weren’t you trapped at Nick’s house? How could you come here, was Nick lying?”

“Well… he wasn’t lying, I was being stalled, but thanks to the demon king and someone else’s help.”

“As long as you came! Hehe, hehe…”

Snow hugged his legs tightly and rubbed her cheeks against his waist like she was trying to prove that it was reality and wasn’t a dream. In the end, she even gently bit on him! It didn’t hurt, but the itchiness made him uncomfortable.

“Look at how happy you’re smiling… I’m a nasty pervert, why are you hugging someone like that?”

“Hehe, you may be a bit perverted, but you’re still a good person. You’re the brother that the Goddess gifted me, so of course I have to hug you!”

“Quit it! Do you think I don’t know you well enough? You’re acting obedient now, but then in a bit, you’re going to think I’m useless.”

“Hehe, of course not! My brother is the best!”

“You…”

Lin Xiao didn’t know what to do with her, but sibling intimacy could be left for later, now he still had stuff left to do.

Just as Lin Xiao wanted to deal with the cute accessory on his leg, Elena walked over and looked at a deep crater in front of her and frowned then looked at Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao immediately became vigilant after her warning and waited for the dust to settle.

The meteors didn’t just break the ceiling but also levelled the walls and the wind blew away the smoke.

Lin Xiao was finally able to clearly see.

“How are you still alive?”

Nick was kneeling on the floor in tattered clothing. He seemed to receive quite an impact as his knees were sunken into the ground and his body was riddled with wounds, not just blackish purple festering wounds but also black scorch wounds.

What surprised Lin Xiao more was his arm.

“Is this the power of the black core?”

Or rather this was the power of the spirit of the holy sword.

Who knows what secret technique he used, but his arm didn’t look human anymore, it was closer to that of a zombie and it was raised high up in the air and his five fingers were spread open like a shield that blocked the meteor that Lin Xiao specially prepared for him to enjoy alone.

Although he survived, that arm was useless…

“Why… that damned brat was just randomly screaming, so why did you appear? Why do you have to come and get in the way?”

Crack. Nick’s huge arm cracked like an aged stayed and fell to the ground piece by piece while he viciously glared at Lin Xiao with his bloodshot eyes!

“Sigh, weren’t you just asking for it? You knew Snow had a brother who could create miracles and you still gave her a chance to yell out three times, weren’t you just begging to die at that point?”

“Lin Xiao, aren’t you supposed to be at my house!?”

“Yes, I went.”

“Then how did you get here so quickly? I already sent all those that weren’t afraid of dying…”

“That’s all thanks to my sister-in-law! … Hey! You can go first, don’t worry, leave the rest of it to your brother-in-law!”

“I’m not your sister-in-law, shameless!”

A slightly hoarse female voice sounded to respond to Lin Xiao and then disappeared.

“Damn brat! Stop acting! No matter how strong you are, you can’t get back here so quickly from my lab… you must have done something!”

“Sigh, since you aren’t convinced, then I’ll let you take a look.”

Lin Xiao shook his head, took out the journal he found in the lab, and waved it in front of him.

“You should know better than me what this is, right?”

“My research journal!? … Bastard! Why does a minor character like you have to keep getting in my way… impossible!!”

Nick lost his mind after seeing that journal.

“Lin Xiao! You shouldn’t have taken my things!”

“But I did, what are you going to do about it?”

“Your eyes have seen stuff it shouldn’t have, so I can only personally dig them out!”

“Heh, a lot of tough talk… you bullied my sister quite a bit, it should be my turn now, right?”
