“But… but what? Lin Xiao, did you find the problem with my father’s illness? Can he be saved!?”

Claire paused then told him the secret.
“You asked me earlier why my father didn’t try any other medicine, right?”
“Yeah, I couldn’t think of why he wouldn’t.”
“It’s simple, that medicine is something my brother, my father’s son, prince Rees personally prescribed for my father.”
“What?”
Lin Xiao was struck by lighting when he heard what Claire said. It didn’t sound like anything was off, just a filial son prescribing his father some medicine. But there was a much deeper meaning.
– As the eldest, he knew his father liked eating sweet pear pudding.
– George caught a cold and had a cough, Rees used that chance to prescribe a coughing medicine.
– The coughing medicine contained lung puncture powder and would react with the sweet pear pudding.
– Because of his trust for his son, George continued to take the medicine and never changed it.
– His illness has gotten worse with only one month left to live.
